Georgia M. Mart

Georgia Marie (Fletcher) Mart, 91, of El Dorado Springs, passed away at Community Springs Healthcare on June 5, 2019.  She was born Feb. 22, 1928, to John Thomas and Maudie Estella (Keller) Fletcher, the eleventh of twelve children.

Georgia spent most of her life enjoying family, taking care of her kids and her grandkids as well as great-grandkids that came later in her life. Growing up living in the country, she always had large gardens and enjoyed canning and cooking to feed the family. She also loved to quilt.

She married Marvin Mart on Oct. 2, 1946, and together they had four children: Joe Bill Mart, Michael Mart, Jeffery Mart and Angela Mart.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Marvin, of almost 53 years; son, Joe Bill Mart and his wife, Nina Mart; grandson, Shawn Mart; son, Jeff Mart; her parents; and all her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by: one son, Michael Mart, of El Dorado Springs; one daughter, Angela Mart, of Olathe, KS; six grand children – Joe Bill Mart of Rockville; Laura (Mart) Smith and husband, Loren, of Rockville; Brandi (Mart) Sever and husband, Jeremy, of Sheldon; Brian Mart of Nevada; Brittney (Mart) Clark and husband, Brett, of Springfield; and Kathy Crawford and husband, Bryan, of El Dorado Springs; seven great-grandchildren – Jonathan Mart, Ashley Bolten, Joe Mart III, Natasha Robinson, Shian Mart, Andrea Boswell and Coleton Smith; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Services were held on Saturday, June 8, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Gar Garman officiating.  Burial followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Joe Mart, Jonathan Mart, Brian Mart, Joe Mart III, Loren Smith and Coleton Smith.
