Hallie C. Bland, 92, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, in Mt. Vernon. She was born in Hamilton County, TX, on Sept. 25, 1925, to Jefferson Curtis Tubb and Frances Susan (Northcut) Tubb. She attended school in Abernathy, TX.

She married Leo W. Bland on March 9, 1945, in Lindsey, CA. Leo and Hallie lived in California until 1948.

They bought the Cedar Springs store in 1948, with Leo’s brother Orval and Allene. They sold the store in 1954. Hallie retired from Witt Printing Company after 29 years.

Hallie loved to sing and sang with the Sweet Adelines for many years. She was known for her Italian Cream Cakes.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Leo; her parents; daughter, Sharon; two sisters; one brother; and son-in-law, Rob Robertson.

Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Robertson; son-in-law, Ed Triangolo; three grandchildren: -Lindsey Anson, Jerimiah Brewer and fiancée, Jennifer, and son, Greyson; Camron Brewer and wife, Tiffany, and great-grandson, Sutton Brewer. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Hallie was a member of the Church Of Christ in El Dorado Springs where she faithfully attended as long as health permitted.

Services began at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept, 5, in the Church of Christ. The family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial was in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Randy E. Bland, Larry Bland, Ronnie Bland, Lyle Bland, Kyle Bland, Kirk Bland, G.A. Eslinger and Phillip Rutledge. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Wiseman, Jarrod Mays, Kent Fortney, Walt Anderson, Gary Bishop and Joe Barger.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House and left at the funeral home.
