Jack VanDerWoude, El Dorado Springs, passed away at 11:07 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born July 18, 1937, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Conrad and Jean (White) VanDerWoude. He married Ruth Davis on Nov. 21, 1964, in Reno, NV.

Jack served in the United States Army as an M.P. stationed in Germany from April 6, 1955, until April 4, 1958.

He was a member of the El Dorado Springs Church of God (Holiness).

Preceding Jack in death were his parents; one brother, Ronnie VanDerWoude of San Andreas, CA; and one brother-in-law, Theodore Montague of Wake Forest, NC.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of the home; one son, Sean VanDerWoude of Morton, IL; three grandchildren – Meghan (Chris) Julian of El Dorado Springs, Tess (Brandon) Deming of Louisburg, KS and Garrett (Amber) VanDerWoude of El Dorado Springs; three great-grandchildren – Kaden, Camden and Jaxon; one sister, Connie Montague of Gustine, CA; and many special nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Jack VanDerWoude was held Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the El Dorado Springs Church of God (Holiness) with Rev. Joe Trussell and Rev. Brent Bland officiating under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Disposition was by inurnment.

Memorial donations may be made to the VFW and left at the funeral home.
