James (Jim) Keith Jantz, 60, was born to Elmer and Dorothy Jantz on July 8, 1955, in Newton, KS. He peacefully departed this life on June 5, 2016, at his home near El Dorado Springs.

Jim enjoyed a happy childhood near Burns, KS. On Nov. 7, 1976, he married Karen Koehn also of the Burns, KS, area. The first part of their married life was spent in that locality where their two daughters were born. In August of 1993, the family moved to the Walker area.

It was always interesting to Jim how mechanical things worked. It was this love that involved him in a life-long occupation as a mechanic. His occupation started as a young man in the Burns, KS, area. When he moved to Missouri, he became a long time employee of Heartland Tractor, Nevada, where he was employed at the time of his passing.

Jim was a very active member of the Living Faith Mennonite Church, Walker. His outgoing personality won him many friends. He will be greatly missed.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, in the Living Faith Mennonite Church, Walker, with John Becker, Ron Koehn, Robert Smith and Shelby Koehn officiating. Interment will follow in the Living Faith Mennonite Cemetery. Survivors include: two daughters, Laura and husband, Stan Dirks – Walker and Ellie and husband, Ty Unruh – Halstead, KS; three grandchildren – Ava and Jude Unruh and Ashley Dirks; his mother, Dorothy Jantz – Moundridge, KS; and one brother, Jerald Jantz and wife, LaVonne – Burns, KS.
