Lois Virginia Wakefield

Lois Virginia Wakefield, 93, Belle Vista, AR, died peacefully Feb. 11, 2017. Lois was born Sept. 20, 1923.

She was raised and lived in Tarkio, MO, where she went to school. She was the daughter of Adelaid and Everett Howell. She had two brothers, Wayne and John Howell. She met and married Charles E. Wakefield on July 4, 1945, and celebrated 50+ wonderful years. They had four children – James Kyland, Charles Everett, Lois Jean and Susan Lynne.

Lois was a warm and loving mother and grandmother. She worked for and taught Kindergarten in El Dorado Springs for a number of years before they retired to Bella Vista, AR, in 1979.

Lois was an active member of 1st United Methodist Church of Bella Vista. She loved to knit and enjoyed the Pray Shawl Ministry.

Survivors include her brother, Wayne Howell of Arizona; Lucky and Danetta Wakefield of Monett; Ann Wakefield of Tarkio; Lois Jean and Joel Ray of Fayetteville, AR; and Susan Lynne Witte of El Dorado Springs. She has 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held privately at Center Grove Cemetery in Tarkio.
