Margie Lou Barger, 86, El Dorado Springs, entered the presence of her Savior on Aug. 10, 2018. She was born in Collins on Jan. 31, 1932, the daughter of Russell and Goldia (Baumgarden) Spoor.

She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 12 and remained a faithful and committed Christian all her life. Margie was a member of the Union Hall Baptist Church since September of 1964. The church was a very special part of her life, and she served the Lord and her church family in almost every avenue of service afforded to her. She always felt blessed to have one of her sons in full-time ministry.

Margie married her soul mate, Donald David Barger, on July 17, 1949. To this union were born two sons, Donald Robert and David Lee. Margie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Preceding Margie in death were her parents; two young sisters; her sister, Wilma Spoor Caldwell; her husband, Donald David; one son, David Lee; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Allinson Barger; one grandson, Daniel Mark Barger; and one great-grandson, Jeremy John McConville.

Survivors include her son, Donald, and wife, Pat; her daughter-in-law, Ramona Barger, all of El Dorado Springs; two brothers, Hersel Spoor and wife, Betty, and Russell Spoor Jr. and wife, Mary; brother-in-law, Bruce Caldwell, all of Kansas City; sisters, Lela Spoor Koger, of El Dorado Springs, and Linda Spoor Wolfe, of Buda, TX; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. All of our lives have been enriched by her love and care for us.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, in Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, with Rev. Don Barger officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Stephen Barger, Marty Spoor, Tony Koger, Rocky Koger, Danny Quick and Jon McElwain.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Union Hall Baptist Church and left at the funeral home.
