Michael Wayne Mogan, 59, El Dorado Springs, joined his Lord and Savior on Sept. 11, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He fought the good fight with a firm belief in Jesus Christ.

Mike was born on Aug. 15, 1959, to Richard and Beverly Mogan in Indepencence. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1979. Soon after this, he moved to New Mexico, working in the concrete industry.

Mike moved back to El Dorado Springs in 1997, working various jobs, mainly concrete. Mike was an extremely hard worker, working hard and playing hard. He was a good man, as well as a faithful friend, helping those in time of need.

Mike enjoyed NASCAR, football, fishing and the BBQ grill and turkey fryer. He would turn out really good food for the holidays.

Mike was preceded in death by one son, Brent Mogan, and brother, Tim Mogan.

Survivors include one grandson, Carter Mogan, of Columbia; parents, Dick and Bev Mogan; brother, Kenny Mogan, and sister, Liesa Messick (Ken), all of El Dorado Springs; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Mike loved his family and his family will dearly miss him.

Services for Mike Mogan were held on Monday, Sept. 17, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Burial followed in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jeff Simrell, Ken Messick, Tony Graves, Justin Mogan, Lonnie Blystone and Larry Bruce.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help the family with expenses and left at the funeral home.
