Nancy Lynn Hopkins Brown, 61, El Dorado Springs, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017. She was born on Dec. 5, 1955, to Elmer and Lorene Maberry Hopkins in Burbank, CA.

She was married to her high school sweetheart, Ron Brown, on June 7, 1974. To this union two children were born – Heather Dawn

on July 20, 1977 and Brett Dean on

Sept. 27, 1981. She had three granddaughters – Kylie Ann on July 29, 1998, Crayton Lynn on March 19, 2008, and Raeleigh Belle on Aug. 26, 2014.

Nancy worked for Dunbrooke Sportswear, Shoe Factory, Sheldon Funeral Home and Brown Funeral Home, and she was co-owner of B&B Specialty Gun Shop. She was most recently employed by Opaa Foods. Nancy loved and enjoyed getting to be with her school kids. She also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lorene Hopkins; her father-in-law Ray Brown; her aunt, Ruthie Rains, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Ron, of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Craig Thorell, of El Dorado Springs; her son, Brett and Rachael Brown, of Exeter; Brian Moeller of El Dorado Springs; three granddaughters – Kylie Ann, Crayton Lynn and Raeleigh Belle; one brother, Eddie Dean Hopkins, of Lafayette, LA; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Brown, of El Dorado Springs; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, in Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Music will be “One More Day,” “When I’m Gone,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Angels Among Us.” Casketbearers will be Jack Webb, Seth Williams, Jim Swopes, Dustan Berning, Dennis Kimrey and Mike Dozler. Honorary casketbearers will be Russ Hayes, J.T. Jackson, the El Dorado Springs Fire Dept. and Bob Leeper. Interment will be in Clintonville Cemetery, El Dorado Springs, under direction of Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs. www.sheldonfh.com.
