Paul B. Darnell, 89, of Harrison, AR, passed away Friday morning, March 8, 2019, at his home surrounded by family. Paul was born Aug. 1, 1929, to James Berton and Iva Fyrne Darnell in El Dorado Springs.

Paul graduated from Central College in Fayette, MO, in 1951. He spent three years in the United States Coast Guard.

Paul married Sally Lyons, of Nevada on Feb. 12, 1955, and started his career with the Bendix Corporation (now Honeywell) in Kansas City. He served one term on the Raytown City Council.

After retiring in 1990, he and Sally moved to his hometown of El Dorado Springs and stayed there for 17 years. He had a big band radio show on the local radio station KSEM every other week. They moved to Harrison in 2007.

Paul is survived by his wife, Sally; two children and their spouses, Paula Darnell and Tom Walters and Jeff and Lois Darnell; two grandchildren, Cory and Adrianne Beddow and Chris and Stefanie Beddow; three great-grandchildren – Grant, Oakley and Ethan Beddow; two sisters, Elenora and Fred Staab and Beverly Darnell. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Bernie Darnell.
