Richard Ivan Painter, 70, El Dorado Springs, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Oct. 25, 2017. He was born on Aug. 15, 1947, in Decatur, IN, to Betty (Musser) Painter and Doyle Painter.

On Dec. 31, 1966, he married the love of his life, Ann Simmons.

Richard proudly served in the United States Navy. He eventually retired from ADM and began to farm full time.

Most important to Richard was his family. His world revolved around his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Ann; precious step-mother, Millie Painter; his children: Julie Painter (Brad Weaver) and their children – Alysa, Lindsey, Calista and Jacob and grandson Ayden; Janeen Painter (Fawn Monaghan) and their child, Mackenzie; Dennis Painter (Sarah) their children – Kody (Amanda), Brooke and Keegan; Jason Painter (Lisa McIntire) and their children – Hilary (Dakotah), Jordan, Elizabeth, Riley, and Parker and grandson, Paul; and Eric Painter (Francie) and their children – Stephen, Taelyn, CeCi and Tanner; sisters – Sandy Kraft, Carolyn Medaugh, Donna Thompson, Vickie Ellis, Valerie Parrish, Carla Shaffer and Connie; sisters-in-law, Arlene Loomis and family and Peggy Hylemon (John) and family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one nephew.

Graveside services for Richard Painter were held on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
