After a mercifully brief struggle with cancer, Shirley Jean Austin, 79, passed away peacefully in her home in El Dorado Springs. Services were held at First Assembly of God Church officiated by Pastor Dana Taylor.

Shirley dedicated many of the years of her life in caring for the elderly in Oklahoma City, OK. In 2002, she retired and shortly thereafter returned to Missouri to care for her ailing mother, until she passed away.

Shirley was a heartfelt Christian and prayer warrior, and fiercely dedicated to her faith in Jesus Christ and her church She was always eager to share her faith and her belie in the infinite power and wisdom of God.

Shirley spent the bulk of her life in service to Jesus Christ and the well-being of others. She will be very greatly missed.

Shirley was born on June 6, 1940, in Lowry City to Vernon Cleve and Eva Jean Austin and passed away July 16, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Eva; her brother, James Elvin Sparks; and sister, Edna May Davenport. She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Loretta Cassidy, and Lisa Kay Ewert, along with her husband, Roy; grandson, Kristopher Ewert, and wife, Abigail Ewert; three great-grandchildren – Kandyn, Zarah and Julian Ewert or El Dorado Springs. Also surviving Shirley are her nephew, Shane Sparks, with wife, Stephanie Sparks, and their daughters, Sahara and Scarlett, and her niece, Mindy Davenport, and her children, Rihana, Jolene and Charlie.

Shirley will be missed by her family so many special friends and her three beloved cats.
