Stanley Spears

Stanley Paul “Boudreaux” Spears, 57, died March 15, 2018, in El Dorado Springs. Stanley was born Aug. 17, 1960, in San Antonio, TX, to Sam and Eva Spears. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Sam Spears Jr., David “Tinker” Spears, and Dan “Bee” Spears.

Stanley was born into a musical family and was a very gifted and talented musician. He designed his first washtub bass in elementary school for a school project and this ignited his love for the bass. Stanley became a very accomplished washtub bass player and played with several bands in the San Antonio and surrounding areas. He later mastered playing the bass guitar and his love for music remained a constant thread throughout his life. Stanley eventually moved to Louisiana and finally settled in Missouri.

Stanley is survived by his love and life partner, Casandra McNerney; son, Cody Spears; grandson, Grayson Spears; brother, Fred Spears; sisters – Eva Johannsen, Carol Hildebrand and Donna Hosey; and numerous nieces and nephews. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him. At his request, no service will be held.

Final disposition was cremation. Arrangements were under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
