Fishing is OK.

They are still catching catfish out of the Osage baiting with shad and perch. All different sizes.

They are still catching crappie down at Caplinger on minnows and jigs. A lot of little ones, but an occasional big one.  You have to be in a certain spot. They didn’t tell me that part.

Some are fishing off the bridge. Some are down below in a boat below the island.

The Corps still has at least one floodgate open.

A guy told me that the river was out up in this area someplace out in a guys wheat field. A momma duck and three or four little ducks were swimming around. A big ol’ flathead came up and ate every one of them. He said that was the oddest thing to watch.

They are still catching a few down at Caplinger, I heard. It sounds like the size is getting smaller on them.

Guys are catching a lot of catfish at Caplinger and all up and down Sac River, a few whites, mostly channels.

They are still catching walleye out there on Stockton Lake bottom bouncing with their worm harnesses.

I haven’t heard anything great about the lake on crappie.

It sounds like the bass fishermen have started having a little bit of luck on creature baits. The water has gone down enough.

The other day they did a pretty good job. I havn’t heard anybody say they are biting today (Tuesday).

He told me they were catching walleye 17 feet down using nightcrawlers or plastic on points.

Then today I heard them say they were down about 30 feet.

One guy said they were catching some white bass and a few crappie. The place was top secret.

They are doing pretty good on white cats with rod and reel down here at the bridge with nightcrawlers.

I know the other day in the south lake at Schell they were catching crappie with minnows. They weren’t huge, but they were catching a lot of them. Some guys out in a boat were catching catfish with shad.

I’ve heard they are still catching everything over at Caplinger – crappie, white bass, hybrids and catfish.
