We are going to have a Flood Benefit Fishing Tournament on Sept. 16 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Orleans Trail south boat ramp. $100 entry. Two man team. Five live fish weigh-in. 50% goes to the hurricane benefit and 50% payback to the top three people in the tournament.

We’ve got several people that are donating some stuff. We’ll have a little raffle, too.

The Show Me State Bass Tournament will be there to weigh everything in for us. They are donating their time. Of course, we are donating our time. LCN Graphics in El Dorado Springs took care of us on all the fliers.

Fishing is alright I guess.

They are still catching walleye and crappie around and over the brushpiles in the lake.

A few guys are trolling catching a few walleye and crappie. They are catching crappie on a pink colored Bandit, a little crank bait that runs deep.

We sold a lot of minnows. They guys are catching some in the brushpiles I know.

Fishing is going really well for white cats and flatheads. The river is good. It got right. They caught a bunch over the weekend.

It was a tie for big fish – a 44 lb. flathead and a 44 lb. white cat. Best baits were carp, goldfish, perch and bullheads. It didn’t matter what kind of bait you had, just whether you were fishing or not.

I’d say it will be good this week, too. The water is stable right now. There’s still current and the water is muddy.

I know I hauled the fish guts off and there was a bunch of them. Big fish, too. I bet there was 20 of them that went over 20 lbs.
