ABA Division 126 completed their 2017 season with the two-Day Championship on Stockton Lake June 24-25. This tournament determined D126 Stockton Lake Champion of the Year – Mike Dill, D126 Angler of the Year – Eric Craft and of course the winner of the tournament – Jay Carter.

Carter’s total 2-day weight was 22.5. Second place went to Scott Tassi with 14.73. Third place was Craft with 13.90. A Big Bass Pot was paid out each day. Carter took day 1 Big Bass with a 4.06 largemouth. Day Two Big Bass and Big Bass of the tournament went to Craft with a 5.96 largemouth. Carter’s payday was $1,052; Tasi took home $508 and Craft won $308.

As AOY, Craft also won an invitation to fish the ABA National AOY fish-off October 18-20, 2017. The winner will bring home a fully rigged TR21. Craft won this fish-off in 2014 so he is no stranger to competing against 40 A’sOY from all over the nation. It will take place on the Ouachita River near Monroe, LA.

The weather played a role in the fishing all weekend. A cold front moved in dropping the water and air temperatures. The wind switched from south to north. Saturday was cloudy most of the day; Sunday was cloudy and sunny. The fish appeared to be very difficult to find. Only three limits were brought to the scales. The winners reported covering a lot of lake territory to find keeper fish.
