Gary Dale Anson, 65, El Dorado Springs, passed away in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2015. Gary was born Nov. 22, 1949, at Pleasant Hill, the son of Theodore “Ted” and Mildred (Lugenbeel) Anson.

He attended and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School.

From 1968-1972 Gary proudly served in the United States Navy. His duties were Line Division, Fighter Squadron 32 aboard the JFK ship. He fought in the Vietnam and Mideast Gulf Crisis of 1971.

Gary married Chrystal Harp in Nevada and later divorced. To this union two daughters were born, Lisa and Amanda.

    Marianne (Kniefel) Chambers, 73, El Dorado Springs, passed away Feb. 14, 2015, in Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar. She was born on March 16, 1941, in Bad Schlag, Czechoslovakia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugen and Gertrude Kniefel.

    Marianne is survived her husband, Gary, of the home in El Dorado Springs; one son, Gary Eugene Chambers, and wife, Amy – Longford, KS; one daughter, Carmen Shiver, El Dorado Springs; two granddaughters, Faith Shiver

    Blanche Mae Norman

    Blanche Mae (Seeley) Norman, 85, El Dorado Springs, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015. Blanche was born July 29, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, to David James and Blanche Mae Seeley. She attended school and spent her entire childhood in Philadelphia.

    On June 15, 1957, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Leland Norman. Into this marriage, Blanche brought two small children. Five more children were born to this union to complete their family.

    Dorothea Fern McMullin, 95, Kansas City North, passed peacefully with family at her side on Feb. 12, 2015. She was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Harwood, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Broughton. She graduated from Harwood High School in 1937 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Scott, KS, in 1942. Her career as a registered nurse spanned five decades.

    Lois Nadine (Burrow) Keith

    Lois Nadine (Burrow) Keith, 87, Liberty, was born in Gilman City, MO, on Jan. 24, 1928, to Roy and Odessa (Collins) Burrow. She passed away Feb. 14, 2015 in Kansas City.

    On June 25, 1943, Lois was united in marriage to Hershel Keith. They were married 52 years. She worked for Sunshine Biscuit, Russell Stover’s Candy and Sears.

    Claude William Hall

    Claude William Hall, 89, Butler, (formerly of Harwood) died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Medicalodge of Butler.

    He was born April 19, 1925, to John and Mable Palmer Hall in Osborne, KS. Claude, one of three children, grew up in Osborne where he attended school.

    He served his country during World War II in the United States Army as well as the United States Air Force.

    Kerry Lynn Hartzog, 68, El Dorado Springs, passed away at his home on Feb. 9, 2015. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Aug. 10, 1946, to Gilbert and Gladys (Desmond) Hartzog.

    Kerry served in the United State Air Force for four years and was stationed at Marysville/Yuba City, CA. Later he worked in law enforcement for Salt Lake City.

    Jewel (Pinckard) Cooey, 70, entered this world on Oct. 21, 1944, as the baby of the family. She departed her earthly body on Feb. 8, 2015.

    She lived most of her life in Brownsboro, TX, before “retiring” to Jerico Springs. Along the way, Jewel married her high school sweetheart and raised three children. Jewel held several jobs, but the most important were wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
