Several from the area attended the fundraiser for Harvey and Connie Gerster at the Dederick Christian Church Saturday evening, Sept. 13.

Connie Locke visited her father, Ben Locke, several different times last week at Nevada.

Those having dinner at Madalyn’s Kitchen after church Sunday, Sept. 14, were Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Jeanie O’Brien, Ruth Ijams, Frances Lewis, Gary Joe and Gayle Dunn and Gayle’s granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Pastor Connie Locke, pastor of the Schell City United Methodist Church, took a vacation day and attended church at the Central United Methodist Church at Kansas City. The pastor there is Connie Spiritual Growth Leader.

    Cedar County Farm bureau schedules annual meeting

    The Cedar County Farm Bureau annual meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, in the Stockton Christian Church. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

    This year we have planned a fun filled evening with a nice dinner, great camaraderie and an exciting celebration as we recognize “Grown and Made in Cedar County”. This year will mark Missouri Farm Bureau as 100 years strong.

    Connie Locke visited her father, Ben Locke, at Nevada Saturday, Sept. 6.

    Mary Henderson of Texas left for her home Monday, Sept. 8, after spending several weeks in the home of her mother, Ruth Ijams, while she was recovering from surgery on the 22nd of August.

    Busy as usual in Mt. Zion

    The Rockville United Methodist Church of Rockville, Appleton City and Montrose met at the Park in Appleton City for worship.Then members went out into the neighborhood to do mission work was very nice day.

    I had a complete knee replacement at the Missouri Orthopedic Institute at Columbia Friday, Aug. 22. My mother, Jewell Ellerman, and my brothers and wife, Bob and Cheryl Ellerman, who live in Edwards and I went to Columbia on Thursday so I could have blood work and to get ready for surgery on Friday. We stayed at the Super 8 Motel on Thursday night and they stayed again on Friday night at the motel. My mother went home with my brother and wife on Saturday and then they brought

    The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women met Wednesday evening, Aug. 20 for their regular monthly meeting at Madalyn’s Kitchen. Those present were Pastor Connie Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Jeanie O’Brien, Ruth Ijams, Madalyn Crocker, Sharon Sterling and Mary Henderson. President Helen Ellerman conducted the business meeting. She gave the devotion taken from Genesis 45:16-28. The purpose of UMW was repeated in unison.
