Mt. Zion Home Bible study meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home to study the Bible, Ten were in attendance. We invite you to join us.

Mt. Zion Club met July 15 in the Beverly Pelkey home, at noon we enjoyed a salad luncheon. President Marge called meeting to order; Wilma Williams gave the devotion, roll call was answered by nine women naming a signer of the Declaration of Independence.     Reinhold Morerod of Hull, IL, who grew up in the Harwood area, passed away two weeks ago at his home. Services for him were held in Illinois on Saturday, July 18. Two of his sisters, Otilla Fox and Judith Cauile, lived in the Harwood area. He had two brothers still living, Boyd Morerod and Waggoner Morerod. He had a sister-in-law, Nina Morerod, living in the Harwood area.

    Doug Wingate visited with Tex McKinley and Dora Jean Thursday afternoon. A bit of repair work was done. D.J. wasn’t anywhere to be seen.

    Dora Jean McKinley saw Thersea Brewer and Joyce Drummond at Wal-mart this week. I missed seeing Frank Drummond. Thersea Brewer was doing her shopping. All three of us had fun.

    Bob and Cheryl Ellerman of Edwards, visited in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerman Wednesday, July 8.

    Tex McKinley and Dora Jean went to Rich Hill this Forth of July. Bob Wingate and Doug Wingate invited us to watch the fireworks with them. E.J. Wingate and friend was also there shooting their fireworks. Everyone had a good time.

    Dora Jean talked to Marilyn Entrikin Tuesday night. She had a very good week. She told me how to fix grapes in the deep freeze and eat them as a frozen treat.

    Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the community dinner put on by the First Baptist Church held at El Dorado Springs Sunday evening, June 28.

    Connie Locke visited her father, Ben Locke, at Nevada this past week.

    The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women were to have their meeting on Wednesday afternoon, June 24. There was a mix up and so just a few showed up.     17 humming birds sitting on a feeder

    I talked to Marilyn Entrikin this week. Being a very active person it’s hard to keep up with her.

    Bobby Seaters stopped by to see Tec McKinley. A long visit was required.

    We’re finally drying out. The moisture was much needed. The humming birds were swarming the feeders. One time I counted 17 at the two feeders. More birds on the way. They disappeared for two to three days, then they were back. Where they go I don’t know. Glad

    A practical joker

Around his desk stacked high was his many boxes of parts, he used to work on the machinery he took care of.
