    Several attended the auction of Rozella Gammon Saturday, Oct. 4. Rozella is living at Culpepper at Nevada on Highland Ave. She would enjoy visiting with her friends or hearing from them.

    The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women met Wednesday evening, Sept. 24, for their monthly meeting at Madalyn’s Kitchen. Those present were Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Madalyn Crocker, Ruth Ijams, Sharon Sterling and Rhonda Kneder. President Helen Ellerman gave the devotion taken from Matthew 18:1-5. President Ellerman read from the prayer calendar and Madalyn Crocker had prayer. The purpose of UMW was repeated in unison. President Ellerman read from the Response, “Give Something to Behold.” Plans were made to start working in the basement at the Schell City United Church

    Friday, Sept. 26, will be Postmaster Karen Coy’s last day at the Harwood Post Office. She is retiring after almost 21 years. She started for Carol Gaines as a sub and then when Carol left in 1999 Karen took over and was appointed Postmaster around 2000. Phyllis Clark will be the sub. The post office will be open two hours Monday through Saturday, 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. It will start on Oct. 4.

    Cedar County Farm bureau schedules annual meeting

    The Cedar County Farm Bureau annual meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, in the Stockton Christian Church. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

    This year we have planned a fun filled evening with a nice dinner, great camaraderie and an exciting celebration as we recognize “Grown and Made in Cedar County”. This year will mark Missouri Farm Bureau as 100 years strong.

    Connie Locke visited her father, Ben Locke, at Nevada Saturday, Sept. 6.

    Mary Henderson of Texas left for her home Monday, Sept. 8, after spending several weeks in the home of her mother, Ruth Ijams, while she was recovering from surgery on the 22nd of August.
