Morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church was taken from Genesis 25:19-34, Romans 8: 1-11 and Mathew 13: 18. Paige Marten brought the message as Pastor Kasey Beaton was out of town for a family funeral; our prayers to the family.

Mt. Zion Home Bible study had eight in attendance to study the Bible. We invite you to join us at Joela Dains home Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., we are studying Timothy. You are welcome to join us, call Tom at 660-598-0477.

Summer weather has returned to the Mt. Zion area. Being Missouri weather we are waiting for cooler weather. A lot of hay has been baled; gardens are producing enough to can, cucumbers, green beans and corn. Life is good in the Mt. Zion area.

    Marilyn had lunch at Buzz’s on Thursday. They were celebrating Barbara’s birthday.

    Had dinner with Lisa H. on Friday. Marilyn said they walked in the Relay for Life on the square.

    Marilyn said they went to the Moss fundraiser on Saturday. Dinner and pie auction and six couples played the Newest game. Son, Jim, and his newest wife, Marilyn, came in second as they missed one question.

    TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)

    TOPS Chapter 0319 met on Thursday, July 3, for the weekly weigh-in and meeting.

    Dorothy called the meeting to order and Kay led us in singing “Zipping Those Pounds Off,” We then said our pledges and had roll call. Eighteen weighed in today and the chapter had a net gain of .4 lbs.

    The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women met Wednesday evening, June 25, for their regular monthly meeting at Madalyn’s Kitchen at 4 p.m. Those present were Pastor Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Madalyn Crocker and Sharon Sterling. President Helen Ellerman conducted the business meeting. She gave the devotion taken from Jeremiah 42:18-22. Pastor Locke read from the prayer calendar and had prayer.     Happy birthday Marilyn Entrikin

    Steve and Rose Entrikin gave Marilyn Entrikin a 70th birthday party on June 7 at the American Legion Hall in Rich Hill. Family, friends and neighbors attended a little dinner. A wonderful cake finished it off.
