Betty and Norman Radde went to Liberal Friday to the Senior Citizens dinner

Sunday afternoon, Tracy and Jaycee Washburn watched the race with Grandpa Bob Lee and Grandma Lavina Clinton. Tracy reports Jaycee has her first two front teeth.

Sympathy goes to the family of Gladys Harden Newby who died this week. She was a member of the Walker High School Class of 1951.

Jenise Burch attended the State DAR Conference Friday through Sunday with six other Elizabeth Carey Chapter members.

Wendy and Brandon Conley and Garrett, and Coltin Wilson visited Charles and me Sunday evening.

    Jewell and Helen Ellerman and Connie Locke worked in the Schell City United Methodist Church basement Tuesday, April 30, getting ready for their sale, then ate at Madalyn’s Kitchen.

    Ed and Mary Henderson of Texas came Monday, April 29, to spend some time with her mother, Ruth Ijams. Mary took a course from the University of Phoenix and she graduated at Lee’s Summit Saturday, May 4. She visited with her sisters, Jeanie O’Brien, of Schell City, and Peggy O’Brien, of Grandview, and other relatives.

    TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)

    TOPS 0319 met in the El Dorado Springs Church Of Christ meeting room on Thursday May 2. Twenty-six members weighed in and we welcomed one visitor, Lisa.

    Co-Leader Becky called the meeting to order and Carol led us in singing “At My Weight.”

    Ponds that were dry are full again

    There has been a lot of rain lately. The river has been out of its banks a few times. Our bog pond is finally getting water in it. Our two small ponds have been filled for a while. It looks so good. Just a few weeks ago Tex was driving his John Deere in the bottom of a dry pond.

    Rochelle’s 20th year reunion

    Rochelle and Dan Borgaila, Chloie, Isabella and Jacob Zane of Council Bluff, NB, visited her parents, Diane and Allen Martin. They attended Founder’s Day at Cottey. This was Rochelle’s 20th year reunion.

    Crawford House store opens

    John Olson from Horton came to visit this week with Tex McKinley and Dora Jean. Been a spell since seeing him, there was a lot to talk about.

    Tex McKinley and Dora Jean had a visitor of Danny Hogan this week. He is a very busy man. I don’t think any grass ever grows under his feet.

    The resident store at Crawford House was open Thursday and Friday. Lots of bargains for the residents.

    Saturday morning visitors of Bob and Jane Hutchison were their daughter-in-law, Karen Hutchison of Walnut Grove, and her mother, Phyllis Piatt, of Humboldt, KS.

    Elnora Wallace attended the open house at the Countryside View Greenhouse east of Walker Saturday. Jack and Sharon Wallace visited her this week.

    Students visiting from Cottey

    Doug Wingate has returned home from the hospital. He said he is feeling fine. Doug, we’re glad to hear that. Tex has kept in touch with him.

    Jim Entrikin and his granddaughters, Bri and Brook, came Sunday afternoon to see great-gran, Marilyn Entrikin’s house. They played in Walton Park. Then back to great-grans place for a snack.

    Four of the Cottey students in Mrs. Stubblefield’s Women’s Studies class came Saturday afternoon to Marilyn Entrikin’s Apartment for lunch and a visit.
