Schell City/Harwood rummage sale May 1 and 2

Frances Lewis’s cousin, Bob Roe, of El Dorado Springs, took her to Madalyn’s Kitchen for lunch Friday, April 17.

The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women will hold their spring rummage and bake sale on Friday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday May 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Most items are 25¢ except the ones marked and the baked goods. The bake sale is Friday only unless there is some left over from Friday. It will be held in the Schell City United Methodist Church basement on the south side of the church.

    The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women met Wednesday evening, April 8, for their monthly meeting at the Schell City United Methodist Church. Those present were Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Pastor Connie Locke, Madalyn Crocker, Rhonda Knerien and Sharon Sterling. President Helen Ellerman conducted the business meeting. She gave the devotion taken from Mark 16:1-8. Pastor read from the prayer calendar and had prayer. The purpose of UMW was repeated in unison.     Busy week for everyone

    Doug Wingate, from Nevada, has been to see Tex McKinley several times this week. Doug has been running errands for his dad, Bob Wingate, this week.

    Dora McKinley has seen Tersea Brewer at Wal-Mart this week. She was very busy doing her shopping. It good to see her again.

    Dora Jean McKinley, back in action

    I’m Dora McKinley. Been sick about a year. I had to stop writing for the paper. I had a stroke, an operation and therapy to learn to walk again. I am recovering really well. I met a lot of hard working people. Without them I could never have made it. I had a cataract removed from both eyes. I learned to make lemonade out of lemons. A lot of fun. As you know lemons are really sour until a little bit of sugar is added.
