Mt. Zion Home Bible study meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home to study the Bible, 12 were in attendance. We invite you to join us.

Mt. Zion Club will meet Aug. 19 in the Marge Zink home for an all-day meeting, we will have special guest to celebrate the Mt. Zion Club birthday.

Can you believe school will soon be starting. Sure has been hot but it is summer.

    Jewell and Helen Ellerman went with Raymond Mundy to the drive-in church service at the First Christian Church at El Dorado Springs Sunday, Aug. 16, then they had dinner at Madalyn’s Kitchen at Schell City.

    Connie Locke visit her father, Ben Locke, at Nevada this past week.

    I hear that Rozella Gammon, who lived at Harwood for a long time, is now in a nursing home at Lamar. She was in an assisted living place at Nevada before going to Lamar.

    Fun party with creepy snacks

    Last week was lots of fun, VBS at Pine Street Church. We more mature people worked in the kitchen. We made fun snacks such as spiders, creepy crawlers, snakes, trail mix and cheese and crackers and Kool-Aid. After the program on Friday night we had ice cream sundaes. Marilyn Entrikin said, a very fun week.

    Steve Entrikin fixed Marilyn Entricin’s A/C in her car. Sure is nice to have it working again in the hot. Walter and Rosalie Burchell visited Mary Leer at Moore-Few this week. Her birthday was Saturday. Jimmie and Glenda and Troy and Roxanna and family took her to Pizza Hut, brownie and a piece of birthday cake. She didn’t want any supper. Maybe the lawns will stop growing if it stays hot. There’s a silver lining to everything.

    Bob and Cheryl Ellerman of Edwards, spent Thursday, July 30, in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerman.

    Jewell Ellerman received word Tuesday morning, July 28, that her nephew, Edwin Jay Shaw, El Dorado Springs, passed away Saturday evening, July 25. He was the son of the late Wilbur and Nellie (Reedy Shaw.) Nellie grew up in the Harwood area. A memorial service will be held for him later.

    Marilyn not a great traveler

    Marilyn Entrikin and family went to Horton, KS, for a family reunion. She rode with son, Steve, and Rose Entrikin. She is worn out , not a good traveler any more. She says too many aches and pains. The boys enjoyed a visit with cousins and with brother and sister-in-law. We write and phone, but nothing beats a good visit over a good meal.

    Hay is hard with too much rain

    Danny Hogan stopped by Sunday afternoon to visit and get some newspapers to put his freshly dug potatoes on. Doug Wingate stopped by the same time to visit.
