A practical joker

Many, many years ago my dad had a practical joke played on him. In his small office he had a large desk. Around his desk stacked high was his many boxes of parts, he used to work on the machinery he took care of. One of his employees thought it would be funny to surprise him with a present of a large snake in a small box. He thought the snake had crawled in it to escape from all the noise.

But later he noticed no one had talked about it. He noticed not a word was said. I think the snake was surprised and wished everyone would leave him alone. My dad said he didn’t need that part. Calmly he walked outside with it in the box.
