Eric David Burns, 42, Stockton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in his home. Eric was born in Pittsburg, KS, on Dec. 20, 1969, to William and Barbara Burns.
He married Kim Burns on Dec. 20, 1987, and she survives. Also surviving are his mother, Barbara Burns; sisters, Brenda Williams and Lori Watson, children, Jacob and Kayla Burns, and grandson, Jude Burns.
Eric’s father, William D. Burns, preceded him in death.
Eric was a long time resident of southwestern Missouri where he worked as a truck driver after his service in the Army National Guard.
Eric was an outdoorsman in every way. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising livestock on his farm and his collection of fishing lures. He also loved to barbecue for his friends and family and could often be found doing so in the sun, rain or snow.
The family will greet loved ones at Bongo’s Bistro in Stockton on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart Society of America.
