Winter fashion for women will be spotlighted at the CATO-COTTEY Fashion Show and Food Drive at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, in the Missouri Recital Hall of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts.
The fashion show will highlight 30 different winter outfits. Cottey LEO (Leadership, Experiences, Opportunity) members and students from Truman Elementary will model stylish winter clothing provided by CATO. Sophie Getiashvili, volunteer management intern at Cottey, is coordinating the event as part of her internship responsibilities on campus.
During intermission, the diversity program on campus will provide rhythmic drumming performed by international students dressed in the styles of their culture. Cottey students in the 3D Design class will provide stage props for the show and the lighting and sound will be provided by students in Theatre Production.
Attendance is open to the community and admission to the fashion show will be one non-perishable food item per person. All food items collected will be donated to Community Outreach for distribution in the area. Rotaract, a student service organization on the Cottey Campus will spearhead the food drive.
The Center for the Arts is on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada. Doors will open at 1:45 p.m. and the fashion show will begin at 2 p.m.
