MORE TRIMMING FOR YOUR TREE – The Preserve Our Past Society has produced the third in a series of locally inspired Christmas Ornaments. The 2012 bauble features the Bandstand in the Park. The inscription on the back reads, “In 1938, the third and existing bandstand was built in the City Park. The rocks were collected by school children and W.P.A. labor. Interested visitors and townspeople sent dishes, marbles, rocks from Tibet and a Hindu Temple and a foot from a statue in China. Regular concerts are still held by the City Band each weekend during the summer.”

The new ornaments are $15 or $25 for the set of three. The first two ornaments, one featuring the Cruce House and the other of the Wayside Inn Museum, are sold for $10 each.
