Next Monday evening is your chance to get into the Christmas spirit with the El Dorado Springs Lighting Ceremony scheduled for Nov. 19 in the Park.

Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with free hotdogs provided by State Senator Mike Parson and State Representative Sue Entlicher. Warren Love, newly elected state representative from the 125th district, will also help with the cooking.

Music will be provided by the El Dorado Springs Show Choir. Samantha White from the El Dorado Springs Christian School will also sing.

Other activities include the introduction of the Miss Merry Christmas candidates and the crowning of Miss Merry Christmas 2012. Little Mr. and Miss Santa and their court will also be introduced.

Santa plans to make an appearance and will hear Christmas requests in his house on the Rock Wall after the lighting ceremony.

And, as in the past few years, Sac Osage Electric will give away a Meco electric grill.

The big event at the conclusion of the evening is the annual flip of the switch that turns on the City’s Christmas lights in downtown El Dorado Springs and out on Highways 54 and 32.

The event is sponsored by the El Dorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, the City of El Dorado Springs, Spring City Revitalization Group and Sac Osage Electric Cooperative.
