Each department at Cedar County Memorial Hospital strives to promote a positive attitude everyday, while providing quality care and customer service. In recognition of our outstanding employees, Cedar County Memorial Hospital celebrated Employee Spirit Week, Oct. 22 – 26.
From Western Day to 1950’s Day, each day held a different theme and fun activities. Departments were judged on their participation to determine which department had the most “Spirit”. An official “Spirit Stick” was made and donated by Matt Deschane. Prizes were given to the winners of each themed contest, and the “Spirit Stick” was awarded to the department that showed the most overall spirit. Activities included a door decorating contest, a pumpkin decorating contest, a costume contest and a treat day for employees to share their favorite fall snacks. A daily employee drawing was also held featuring prizes donated by our local Sonic Drive-In and Wilkinson’s Pharmacy.
Guest judges from the Cedar County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Red Hat Club, as well as hospital visitors were asked to judge many of the week’s events.
Cedar County Memorial Hospital Spirit Week contest winners were as follows. The most creative, decorated department was – Lori Helm and the Dietary Department. The winning decorated pumpkin was – Sue Luther, Dietary Department. The winner of the best costume was – Victor Schulte, IT Department. And, the winner of the Spirit Stick, showing the most overall spirit, was Twyla Roberts and the Registration Department. Participation in all of the events was great, and of course, we think all of our employees are winners.
Cedar County Memorial Hospital thanks its employees for their dedication to the hospital and its patients; Sonic, Wilkinson’s Pharmacy and Matt Deschane for their kind donations; and the contest judges who had the hardest job of all. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a fun week for our employees, patients and visitors.
