All enjoyed the Ecumenical Thanksgiving at UMC

Those having dinner at Madalyn’s kitchen after church Sunday, Nov. 18, were Pastor Connie Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Jeanie O’Brien, Ruth Ijams, John and Frances Lewis, Verla Murell, Mike Burton and Rita Miller.

Mike Burton of Higginsville is here to spend a few days in the home of his grandparents, John and Frances Lewis.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 18. Brother Cliff Bennett’s sermon “Authority and Presence to God” was taken from Matthew 28:16-20.

Church service was held at the Schell City Untied Methodist Church Sunday, Nov. 18. Pastor Connie Locke’s sermon “Doing For Us What We Cant’ Do For Ourselves” was taken from Hebrews 10:11-25. Sunday School was held before church. Jeanie O’Brien led the lesson “Paul Ministers in Malta” taken from Acts 28:1-10. The Schell City/Harwood UMW presented Bob Rutzen and Jerry Coy a Mission for Minute certificate for the work they do for the church and for the UMW rummage house in the church basement.

Pastor Connie Locke attended a lecture at the Unity Temple at the Plaza in Kansas City. Saturday evening, Nov. 17.

A large crowd attended the Ecumenical Thanksgiving at the Schell City United Methodist Church Sunday evening, Nov. 18. Pastor Connie Locke had the sermon, the Baptist Church pastor, Doug Reynolds and the Christian Church pastor Paul Thorade took part in the service and each church had a special. Lawrence Cripps played the piano for the service. The Methodist Church was the host for the meal which was held in the Baptist Church fellowship hall. Madalyn Crocker did the main part of the meal and the Methodist Church along with the two churches brought desserts and salads. The Methodist Church would like to thank everyone who helped with the meal.
