James Edwin Collins, 60, was born Jan. 10, 1952, in Springfield to Willie and Goldie Collins. He passed away Nov. 21, 2012 at his home in Montrose.
He grew up in the Schell City area. He spent several years as a carpenter and retired due to declining health.
On Dec. 14, 1970, James was united in marriage to Mary Fox. She preceded him in death. Also preceding James in death were three brothers – Alonzo, Charles and Frank Collins, and one sister, Helen.
He is survived by one son, Guyon Collins – Walnut Shade, MO; daughters, Sebrena Collins – Schell City and Amber Johnson – Texico, N M; six grandchildren; special friend, Patty Hubbard; and other relatives and friends.
Services were held Sunday, Nov. 25, in Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, with Rev. Beverly Hubbard officiating. Music was “You Are My Sunshine,” “I’ll Fly Away” and “Angel Band.” Casketbearers were Steve Culp, Steve Smith, Kenny Jasper, Chirag Kothawaia, Darrell Beasley and Tyler Watskey.
