From Dec. 7 – 9 from 7 – 10 p.m., a drive-through Christmas experience will light up for its third season at Camp Galilee.
It began as a dream of Directors Brad and Janet North. They shared that dream with two El Dorado Springs DECA students (Jenna Durnell and Mallory Lanser) just over two years ago, and they brought the dream to life. It has grown from a small start to this year having over 75,000 lights. (We kind of lost count).
“We absolutely love Christmas and especially the reason for this season.” Brad said. “As beautiful as Galilee is in the spring and summer when it is green and full of life, we wanted to show how beautiful Galilee is year round. Each year the plans are to grow bigger and bigger. “
For this season, the event has been adopted by the El Dorado Springs Choral Dept. as one of their big fund raisers. They have been hard at work checking and re-checking the lights and putting out new lights and other displays. They also have plans to add a whole lot more fun to Saturday Dec. 8, festivities. Again this year in the dining hall you will find several local businesses selling all their wonderful crafts and other goodies, however we have made arrangements for Santa Claus to be there for pictures with your little ones, and we will have a couple of Santa’s elves helping with the little ones while you are shopping in the dining hall. Of course if the choir is involved then there has to be some caroling too. Come listen to them as they share some Christmas carols and fell free to join in, to help boost everyone’s holiday spirit.
Please plan to come Dec. 7-9 from 7 – 10 p.m., and experience Christmas in a whole new light.
