What a fantastic 2012 Christmas Parade we had on Saturday in El Dorado Springs. We had almost 50 fantastic floats, buggies, horses, ponies, monster mudders, mowers and more. The weather was perfect for a Christmas Parade, a bit cloudy with just a nip in the air. I believe the crowd was about as large as we have seen in the past few years.
Thanks to the Christmas Parade Committee for all their assistance in making the 2012 parade another successful event. The committee members were Chairman Neil Linsenmayer, Mike Frier, Janna Dody, Brad North, Toshua Barnes, Stephanie Quinlan, Jack Daniel, DeeDee Hunter and Jami Carpenter.
The committee wishes to thank those that took the time and made the effort to make floats. Without you, it would be pretty hard (like impossible) to have a good parade. You entertained children of all ages with your creative spirit and your work on your floats.
The committee also thanks those that helped with the Santa House “Extreme Make-Over” – Meeks, Brad North and Galilee NOMADS and Joyce Stewart for their hard work. Thanks to J. Beaty Farm Equipment for the use of the trailer/stage. Thanks to Generation 3 for presenting the Miss Merry Christmas contest and the Little Mr. and Miss Santa contest. Thanks to Paula Newman and Pete Quinlan for emceeing the parade again this year. A huge thank you to the Lions Club for their annual assistance in lining-up the floats and getting the order so seamless and smooth. Also thanks to the City of El Dorado Springs, the street department and the police department for their assistance. Thanks to Les and Glenna Ray for helping bring Saint Nicholas and his special sleigh to the parade.
We couldn’t do the parade without the partnership of our Float Prize Sponsors: El Dorado Springs Optimist Club, the VFW, Nine Wonders Optimist Club, the Lions Club and Wilbur’s Fireworks. Tell our sponsors you appreciate them sponsoring the parade, making it the success it is every year.
