Josephine Janet Cartwright, 42, was born in El Dorado Springs, on May 19, 1970, to her loving parents, Joseph and Grace Cartwright. She was the youngest of eight children. She passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012.

Josephine married Kevin Lee Miles on Oct. 12, 1988. To this union four children were born: three daughters – Kara Grace Miles (25), Jessica Christine Miles (23) and Janet Nichole Miles (16); and one son, Kalvin Reed Miles (21).

She was a very family oriented woman and loved all of her family. They all meant a great deal to her. She was a very big-hearted woman. She would do anything for anyone she knew or met. Josephine was a very loving mother and grandmother. Her babies were always her pride and joy. She loved children very dearly and dedicated her entire life to them and also to spoiling her grandchildren, Landon “D” (five years old) and Justin Lee (three years old) as much as she possibly could. She loved them so much and was very excited for the two grandchildren on the way.

Josephine had many close friends who she loved and cared for. She had a love for helping others in need all throughout her life. It brought joy to her and she enjoyed doing it. She will be missed by the many people she touched and never forgotten.

The past two years she lived in Camdenton and was a loving companion to Matthew Fitzwater.

She was a member at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Springs. Jospehine was saved by the Lord in her younger years and was baptized. She and her family are comforted that she is resting peacefully in Heaven with our dear Heavenly Father, God.

Josephine was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Vernon Cartwright; niece and dear friend, Janet Brasher; her two brothers who passed away at birth; nephew, Christopher Cartwright (son of brother, Gary Cartwright); niece, Elizabeth Cartwright (daughter of sister, Jessica Hemperly); maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her mother, Grace Cartwright – El Dorado Springs; three daughters – Kara Grace Miles – El Dorado Springs, Jessica Christine Miles – Forsyth and Janet Nichole Miles – Forsyth; only son, Kalvin Reed Miles – Alliance, NE; two grandsons, Landon “D” Wishur and Justin Lee Anderson , both children of Kara Grace Miles with a third grandson due in January 2013 and Jessica Miles due with Josephine’s fourth grandchild in July 2013; three brothers – David Cartwright – Colorado, Gilbert Cartwright – Cherryville, KS, and Gary Cartwright – Milo; four sisters – Eunice Allen – El Dorado Springs, Jessica Hemperly – Neosho, Christine Albrecht – El Dorado Springs and Marybeth Cartwright – Kansas City. Jospehine is also survived by 12 nephews and six nieces, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews, and many more friends and family as well as her ex-husband and father of her four beautiful children, Kevin Lee Miles, of Kansas City.

Josephine Cartwright touched many family members and friends with her kind heart, undying love and endless forgiveness. No matter what the circumstances was she never let it keep her away from the ones she loved and cared for. And that love she expressed will stay with us daily. She will be greatly missed and loved forever by all those dear to her or that ever knew her, and even though she is no longer with us, she will ALWAYS be cherished in our memories and our hearts.
