Nominees still needed for Cedar Co Extension Council election

The public election of Cedar County’s University of Missouri Extension Council will begin Jan. 21 and run through Jan. 26 . Nominees are selected by the citizen’s of Cedar County. The election is being held in accordance with state law (Chapter 262.550-262.620 R.S. Mo. 1969).

We are still in need of nominees from both the Southern and Northern districts in Cedar County. If you are interested in running for the Cedar County Extension Council, please call 276-3313.

Nearly every county in Missouri has an extension council made up of elected (and appointed) members who represent the broad educational needs and backgrounds of people in that county. University of Missouri Extension offers educational programs addressing high-priority areas like agriculture, horticulture, nutrition, consumer and family economic, business and industry, community development and youth development (4-H).

“Anyone, 18 years of age or older, interested in education and the progress of our county should vote for the nominee of their choice,” said Dona Goede, County Program Director. “The resources of the Universities are available to us. It is our responsibility to put these resources into effective use.”
