Morning message Rockville United Methodist Church by pastor Larry Sorrels was titled “Living in a Blaze of Glory,” taken from I Corinthians 12: 1-11.

Mt. Zion Home Bible study held in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. to study the Bible, we invite you to join us.

Mt. Zion Club met Wednesday, Aug. 15, in the Marge Zink home with 10 ladies present to celebrate the Club’s 95th birthday. Roll call was something new I remember getting for school, most remember getting new shoes. Wilma gave the devotion, Beverly gave the treasurer report and the history of the Club by showing program books a Mt. Zion Alumna quilt. Mrs. Crayton an early member was mother Roberta Dines and mother-in-law to Charlene Crayton; Ruth Zink mother-in-law to Marge Zink.

Time was spent tacking quilts for the nursing home; cake and ice cream was enjoyed, ladies enjoyed playing Bingo; next meeting Sept. 19.

Visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home were Kent Crawford, Beth, Hailey and Carson; Dixie was happy to attend church.

Several from the area attended the Missouri State Fair.

Beverly Pelkey celebrated her birthday Sunday. After church Tom and Beverly enjoyed dinner at the new café in El Dorado Springs. They are keeping busy feeding the humming birds.

Over at the Robin Siegismund Farm all are happy. Belle got an ice cream treat and Robin as a retired teacher waved at the school bus going by, happy and busy in her retirement.

John and Julia Snethen are still keeping up with all of the doctors’ appointments and John’s bus route.
