COMMISSION

The Cedar County Commission met Dec. 17, 2012. Present were – Jesse Watts, presiding commissioner; John A. Fox, southern commissioner; Peggy Kenney, county clerk; Don Boultinghouse, northern commissioner elect; Byron Hamilton, northern commissioner absent.

Minutes from Dec. 10, 2012 were approved as printed.

Met with Road and Bridge Supervisor Eddie Coffin.

Don Mills requested gravel for 425 Rd and 1260 Rd.

Melinda Gumm, circuit clerk hired Stacy Picard to fulfill grant received for $11,500.

Commission requested Rick Pohlsander, prosecuting attorney, to review request from City of Stockton for a building permit to continue work on the law enforcement facility.

Commission signed agreement between Cedar County and Henry County for inmate boarding

Louise Reynolds reported, in her opinion, Cedar Hall Special Road District had no representation; something needs to be done about 425 Rd and 1880 Rd.

Opened bids for elected officials’ bonds; bids were received from Teeple Insurance, Mid Missouri Insurance, Stockton Insurance

Motion by Fox to accept bid from Teeple Insurance for public administrator, Stockton Insurance for sheriff, coroner, surveyor; second by Watts

Met with Cedar County Assessor Eddie Johnson to process court orders 16902 through 16955 to add-on the assessed valuation of newly purchased personal property.

Bills were approved for payment.

Progress meeting on law enforcement facility with Zahner Hansen scheduled for Dec 20, 2012.

Dennis Talley, Mid Missouri Insurance, Leon Dwerlkotte, sheriff elect, discussed the county’s hummer and the need for diesel fuel, commission agreed sheriff’s office should have a key to the diesel pump; discussed the procedure on filling vacancies in the sheriff’s office; discussed the need for software.

Duke Smith reported his concerns with the Senior Service Tax Board granting money for exercise programs.

Signed agreement for Experience Works Grant; grant will pay 18 hrs a week for a person in their program to work at the courthouse.
