The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women met Wednesday evening, Jan. 16, at Madalyn’s Kitchen for their regular monthly meeting. Those present were Pastor Connie Locke, Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Frances Lewis, Madalyn Crocker, Jeanie O’Brien, Ruth Ijams and Sharon Sterling. Helen Ellerman president conducted the business meeting. She gave the devotion taken from Luke 11:33-36. Pastor Locke read from the prayer calendar and had prayer. The purpose of UMW was repeated in unison. The card chairman reported sending several cards. Pastor Locke had the lesson “Preparing Our Priorities.” Jeanie O’Brien read Matthew 22:37-39. For closing they read Psalm 146. Finger food was brought by everyone which consisted of summer sausage, cheese, pizza, rollups, crackers, chips, brownies, chocolate pie, iced tea and coffee. The Feb. 20 meeting will be at Madalyn’s Kitchen at 6 p.m. with finger food. Jeanie O’Brien will have the lesson.

Frances Lewis’ cousin, Bob, and Thelma Roe of El Dorado Springs came and took her to Madalyn’s Kitchen for dinner Friday, Jan. 18.
Connie Locke visited her parents, Ben and Gloria Locke, at Nevada Sunday afternoon, Jan. 20.
Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Jan. 20. Brother Cliff Bennett’s sermon ”Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus” was taken from Matthew 4:12-17.

Jeanie O’Brien led the lesson “Gaining in Jesus Christ” taken from Philippians 3:7-11.
