Jackie Duane Tucker, 70, was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Vista to John Lester Garver and Mary Estelene Higgins Tucker. He passed away Jan. 11, 2013, at Mercy Healthcare Center, Springfield.
Jackie grew up in the Collins area. Most of his adult life was spent in Kansas City where he worked as a commercial tile setter. He spent his later years peacefully living in El Dorado Springs.
He honorably served his country in the US Navy from Oct. 1, 1959, through September 6, 1963.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Billy and Bobby Tucker; his ex-wife and companion, Geneva Tucker; four grandchildren; in-laws, Albert and Donna Chaney, Kenneth Chaney and Mary Fintleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jackie Tucker Memorial Fund in care of Sheldon Funeral Home.
Services were held Saturday, Jan. 19, in Kings Praire Cemetery, Osceola, with Pastor Joe Trussell officiating under direction of Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs VFW Post 1894 performed the US Navy Honors.
