The El Dorado Springs Boys JV basketball team played two games this past week. They played Monday, Jan. 14, at home against Harrisonville and Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Rich Hill. The young team battled hard in both games and just came up a little bit short of a victory in each of the hotly contested games.

In Monday’s game against Harrisonville, the team kept it close through three quarters, only down by four at 35-31 going into the final quarter of play. Harrisonville was able to use their size and depth down the stretch to pull out the victory in the end 53-38.

Leading the team in scoring for the Bulldogs was Blake Cluck with 10 points, followed by Cody McNeece with eight and Walter Burk pitching in with four points.

Next up for the young Bulldog squad was Rich Hill on the 15th. This was a close ball game all the way throughout the contest as Rich Hill led at the half by a score of 16-15. Going into the 4th quarter El Dorado Springs held a slim lead of 25-22 but the Rich Hill Tigers squad fought back to tie the game at the end of regulation 31-31. The teams fought tooth and nail taking the game into double overtime but it was Rich Hill who was able to pull off the victory in the end with a final score of 42-36.

Leading all scorers for the game was Walter Burk of El Dorado with 14 points. Lance Molz added six points to the effort followed by Blake Cluck with three points.
