The El Dorado Springs City Council voted to hire Jon Wolfe for a 90 minutes performance at the 2013 Picnic at a cost of $4,250. Wolfe will be the featured entertainment on Friday, July 19, with the performance beginning at 10 p.m.

All councilmen were present: Jerry Friar, Gene Floyd, Randy Bland and Jerry Baldwin. Mayor Brad True was present as was City Clerk Lisa Allison, who, at the request of True, represented the city in City Manger Bruce Rogers’ absence.

After the approval of the minutes of the Jan. 7, 2013, meeting, the council approved a request from the 54 Cruisers to hold their 20th annual car show on Main Street on Saturday, May 11. Ralph Zartman represented the Cruisers and stated that the club requested that Spring and Main Streets be blocked as well as the alleys. He said the club’s insurance will list the city on their rider for the event.

True mentioned that Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission meets in various cities throughout the region and met at the Civic Center last Thursday. He said there was a good turnout at the meeting and several attendees toured the building and were impressed with the facility.
