TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, Nov. 15, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.

Leader Sheryl Ann called our meeting to order and Kay led us in singing “Try To Be A Smarty” We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges.

Sheryl reported 24 weighed in today. The chapter had a net gain of 2.6 lb.

The weeks best loser was Angie with a loss of 2.4 lbs. Congratulations Angie. Chris had a good loss but was unable to stay for the meeting, he lost 2.4 bs, Judy B lost 1.5. Congratulations to all of our losers.

We sang Happy Birthday to Juda and Jean.

Marble game: Marie won the chance to draw for the marble but did not get the winning one. The pot was at $127 and will be more next week. We are down to only five marbles.

Nov. 17,  LJ drove her vintage convertible our Chapter King and Queen rode with her. Juda wwa in the car as she is our charter member of 50 years. Rest of members walked along side of the car and passed out “lifesavers” with TOPS information along with them.

Marie made lovely signs to put on the car and Warren and Linda are decorating a wagon with a tree in it to pull along behind. Should be a fun time.

Sheryl read a letter from Sylvia she reminded us the year end reports are being mailed from headquarters. TOPS store now accepts credit cards on line and there will be a weight loss journey webinar on line on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m.

She reminded us who must have at least one weigh-in for December. New KOPS, possible division winners (anyone who has lost at least 10 pounds during the year).

Sheryl then turned the floor over to a representative from Evans Drugs to present the program.

She talked about diabetes. November is diabetes awareness month, she explained the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes. She told us of a couple of new things on the market to better keep track of your blood sugar. She has diabetes and has family members who have it as well.

Evans drug will sponsor a Diabetic support group which meets each second Tuesday of the month in the hospital class room. This is free; next one is scheduled for Dec. 11. She said we should call Evans Drugs for the time of this meeting and more information. We thank Evans Drug for the informative programs they bring to us each month. (We like the door prizes too).

With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”.
