
Nine members of Northeast Vernon County FCCLA attended district contest on Jan. 25, 2013.
The students that competed in the Life Event Planning spent several months planning for a special event that they could apply to their life. Hannah Harp, Courtney Justice and Emily Davidson, competed in Life Event Planning Junior. They received a Gold medal and will advance to state. Erin Kitsmiller compteted in Life Event Planning Senior and received a Gold Medal and will advance on to state. Amber Bogardus competed in Life Event Planning and received a Gold medal and she will compete on the state level.
Chance Messier and Tori Stutzman competed in Food Innovation Junior. The girls had created a healthy quick food for people on-the-go and presented their new recipe to the judges. They received a Bronze medal.
Shelby Wilkins competed in Recycle and Redesign Senior. Shelby spent several hours designing a special events dress from recycled paper. She then had to present her design to the judges. She received a Silver medal.

Trenton Rader competed in Impromptu Speaking Junior. He was given a topic and had only a few minutes to present it to the judges. He received a bronze medal.
