A third grade girls basketball team comprised of third graders from the El Dorado Springs public school concluded their 13-game season by winning the ElDo Classic on Feb. 23. The team of Keylie Steward, Morgan Mitchell, Reese Schaaf, Dani Ogle, Caitlyn Burchett, Tevi Gurley, Kylie Hutsell, Kaylynn McCullick and Tenesa Turner defeated Lakeland twice and also beat Nevada en route to the tournament championship. The team played 13 total games this season with the majority of those games being played against fourth grade competition. The team played in two tournaments at Nevada, one at Osceola and the final tournament here in El Dorado Springs. The girls worked hard all season and continued to improve on a daily basis. The team won five of its last seven games to finish with an overall record of seven wins and six loses. I am very proud of the girls for their commitment and for their overall dedication to the game of basketball. It was a great deal of fun working with each of these girls and I am proud to have been able to coach them. Brad Steward
