On Wednesday, Feb. 20, the Lady Bulldogs once again traveled to Butler this time to take on the Lady Tigers of Stockton in the semi-finals of the district tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs started out well as they were able to force Stockton into some early turnovers in the first quarter, but the Lady Tigers were able to keep pace as they went on a run to end the first. In the second quarter, the Lady Bulldogs were once again able to capture the lead with some timely passing and good defense taking a lead into half time with the score 25-19.

In the third quarter, the Lady Bulldogs struggled to find their range as Stockton held them to just two points and Stockton was able to take the lead going into the fourth quarter up 31-27. The fourth quarter watched both teams hit big shots, but the Lady Bulldogs weren’t able to pull it out in the end losing by a final score of 43-47.

Leading the Lady Bulldogs in scoring was Kaili Simmons 11, Rachel Bush 9 and Taylor Witt 8.

This ended the season for the Lady bulldogs who finished with a 18-8 record, second place finishes in the Warsaw and Clinton tournament, a third place finish in the Skyline Tournament, multiple all-tournament team members, two players who scored their 1,000th point for their careers in Kaili Simmons and Alexa Schaaf and two All-District team members in Kaili Simmons and Alexa Schaaf.

We lose two great seniors in Kaili Simmons and Kate Sibley, but we have a really good group of girls who will return for us next year.”
