America Saves Week, which takes place from Feb. 25 to March 2, is a chance for you to assess your finances and set some savings goals or adjust your current goals so you can reach them faster.
USA.gov in partnership with America Saves and the American Savings Education Council offer a few easy ways you can get involved in America Saves Week.
*Take the America Saves Pledge
*More than 310,000 people have pledged to start saving money with the America Saves Pledge. You can join in to help stay committed and focused on your financial goals.
*Order or Download Free Publications to Help Understand Your Finances
*Money can be tricky, but these free financial publications will help you understand the ins and outs of budgeting and planning for the future. Armed with knowledge about saving for college, retirement benefits and more, you’ll be able to make smarter decisions about savings.
*Share your Savings Goal
*According to America Saves, you’re more likely to save successfully if you have a specific goal in mind. Using these specially designed posters, you can write down your goal and hang it somewhere prominent so you can be reminded of it.
*Assess Your Current Savings
*This week is a chance for you to look at how you’re currently managing your money. Assess whether you have a spending plan in place and if it’s up to date. If not, this is your chance to update it to reflect your current financial goals.
*Share Savings Tips
*Whether you’re a military member participating in Military Saves Week or just someone trying to make smarter money decisions, you can read and share savings tips by following America Saves Week on Twitter @AmericaSaves and @choosetosave. And follow @USAgov on Twitter to get trusted information about government benefits and services.
