DECA COMPETES AT DISTRICT

On Tuesday, Feb. 12, 15 members of the El Dorado Springs DECA chapter competed at the District 10 Career Development Conference in Carthage. Members attending were Ashten Alexander, Megan Chism, Elizabeth Clark, Lakyn Coleman, Michaela Collins, Kristen Lackey, Mallory Lanser, McKensi Marshall, Felecia Ozbun, Colton Sanderson, Madi Sibley, Calem Simrell, Koty Steward, Morgan Sumner and Dylan Timmermann. The students participated in various marketing events and had time to socialize with other members from District 10. Mallory Lanser State Vice President of Communications gave a report on what the State Action Team is planning. Seven members of the El Dorado Springs Chapter qualified for the State Career Development Conference to be held at Lodge of the Four Seasons in Lake of the Ozarks March 17-19. The results are as follows: Michaela Collins and Dylan Timmermann – 1st place Community Service Project, Elizabeth Clark and Morgan Sumner – 2nd place Hospitality and Tourism Operations Research Event, Megan Chism and Kristen Lackey – 2nd place Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making Event, and Colton Sanderson – 2nd place Quick Serve Restaurant Management. Mallory Lanser will also attend to help oversee the conference.
