Jerry and Jenise Burch have returned from San Francisco, CA, where they visited friends, Terry and Deneille Butler and their son and daughters, Jennifer and Gary Bradford, Jamie and Marie Butler, and Julie and Skip Stallings. They toured the Sutturi Castle and vineyard, spent some time at the Walt Disney Family Museum, saw the Golden Gate Bridge and went to a military base on the Marin Headlands.

Carter Foreman spent Friday with Charles and me, and then he and Brooklyn Foreman spent the night with us. Dave and Betsy Foreman celebrated Dave’s birthday by going out to eat at the Thai Restaurant and attending a show. Christine and Corey Graham and Chet Foreman joined us for supper. Dave Foreman had breakfast with us before taking Carter and Brooklyn to the YMCA Easter Egg Hunt in Nevada Saturday morning.

The Walker Rural Fire Department will host a Hog Roast on April 6.

The big news in the Walker area this week was the winter storm Saturday evening and all day Sunday. Many people here were without electricity. I grew up without it, but I sure don’t want to now. I built a fire in the fireplace and cooked soup on the insert so we were fine, but how did we live before the Internet and television?

Jack and Sharon Wallace and Danielle McWilliams visited Elnora Wallace.

Glen and Alberta Hays attended Eastern Star meetings in Jefferson City and Waynesville.

Christine Graham brought lunch Tuesday to Charles and me, and we were joined by Kathryn Phillips.
