Christopher Purgerson, 11453 E. 150 Road, El Dorado Springs, was arrested by Nevada police officers after he was caught in the act of burglarizing a home about 4:15 p.m. Friday, according to a report by the Nevada Police Department.
Officers said Purgerson was found when the homeowner returnedand called police when the 24-year-old white male ran from the residence. Officers located him for the arrest and recovered the allegedly stolen property.
Purgerson was booked at the Vernon County jail Friday. A felony count alleging burglary was filed Monday, March 25, by Vernon County prosecutor Lynn M. Ewing III. Nevada police officers say Purgerson’s bond was set at $50,000.00 cash only.
Purgerson, was arraigned Monday in Vernon County associate circuit court on a felony charge alleging burglary. During the brief arraignment, Purgerson told Judge Neal Quitno he would apply for public defender services and the judge scheduled a pre-hearing conference for 9 a.m. April 8.
A further search of the state judiciary’s case.net web-site reveals that Mr. Purgerson pleaded guilty November 10, 2009, to a felony charge alleging the possession of a controlled substancethat was filed earlier that year. He was given a suspended five-year prison term, pending five years probation. The probation was revoked Nov. 13, 2012, and Circuit udge James R. Bickel lifted the stay, ordering Purgerson to serve the five-year term – with the judge retaining jurisdiction for 120 days. Purgerson was released on probation March 4, 2013.
