Steve F. Knapp, 64, El Dorado Springs, passed away March 29, 2013, at his home in rural El Dorado Springs. He was born March 31, 1948, the son of Earl and Goldie (Ferris) Knapp.
Steve worked for many years as a carpenter. He was a good man, father and friend to those who knew and loved him. He was always willing to help anyone, no matter what the need was.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Goldie Maness; his father, Earl F. Knapp; and one grandson, Derrek Gallahue.
Survivors include his children – Candy R. Burge and husband, Tony – Anderson and their six children and 15 grandchildren; Dixie Griffin and husband, Lester – Neosho and their five children and nine grandchildren; Mechell Branham – Oklahoma and her five children and five grandchildren; Tina Cooper – Neosho and her five children and two grandchildren; Stephenie Granham and husband, Robert – Anderson and their two children; Kimberly Knapp; Stephenie – El Dorado Springs; and Robyn Lacrosse – Dallas, TX; seven brothers and three sisters – Lonnie Taylor – Kansas City, KS; Margie Shaw, – Olathe, KS; Bradley Knapp – El Dorado Springs; Sharon Goodman – Nevada; Leland Maness – Kansas; Mike Maness – California; Danny Maness – Kansas; Ray Knapp – Mclouth, KS; Kevin Knapp – Leavenworth, KS; and Elaine Knapp – Leavenworth, KS.
Services will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Final disposition was cremation under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
