Excitement is in the air and the invitations are in the mail as the Fifth Annual Lighthouse Gala draws near. On Saturday, April 27, over 200 guests from Nevada, Stockton, El Dorado Springs and surrounding communities will gather at the First Baptist Church’s Family Life Center in El Dorado Springs to “Salute the Arts,” the theme of this year’s much anticipated event.

The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. as guests are treated to an inspirational and patriotic presentation while enjoying the tantalizing first course of the event’s evening meal.

“The Lighthouse has many fun and exciting things planned for our guests during this year’s event,” Lynne Hedrick, executive director of the Lighthouse, said. “The goal is that by the end of the evening, our guests will walk away feeling uplifted, inspired, united and full of hope for the future of our youth and the arts in this area.”

The evening’s excitement includes a mystery political guest who will make an appearance during the course of the evening’s festivities.

Hedrick said, “No one will want to miss the opportunity of meeting our secret guest whose identity, due to security reasons, cannot be announced prior to arrival. All we can say is that we are thrilled this public figure will be joining other past and present elected officials who are this year’s honored guests of the evening and include Senator Mike Parsons, Representative Warren Love, Representative Sue Entlicher and former Representative Barney Fisher.”

Invitations will arrive in the mail this week. Space is limited and guests are asked to return their RSVP by April 17. If you do not receive an invitation but would like to be placed on this year’s guest list, email Hedrick at or call (417) 876-3712.
