Easter in Silver Dollar City

The Walker Rural Fire Department hosted a Hog Roast Saturday evening. Friends and neighbors enjoyed getting together and helping the fire department.

Lee Lloyd spent Easter with his mother, Patsy Lloyd.

Gilbert and Eleanor Willson took their granddaughters, Claire and Brianne Willson to Branson for the Easter weekend. They took in Silver Dollar City and all the Easter festivities at Treasure Lake.

Linda and Harry Hardy and their daughter, Lana Popejoy, of Kansas City, spent the weekend with Elnora Wallace. The women enjoyed a shopping trip to Nevada Saturday. Enjoying lunch with them Sunday were Brian and Connie Wallace, Brian Lowell Wallace, Sue and Greg Prough, Greg Hardy and Danielle McWilliams.

Betty and Norman Radde went to Liberal Friday to the Senior Citizens Dinner. They said there were 45 in attendance, and lots of good food

Bob and Laura Clinton took a long drive Sunday and had lunch in Nevada.

Ernest Nikodim and Kathy and Mike Newman ate at the hog roast Saturday evening.

While Laura and Josh Willson, Jackson and Reid were here visiting her parents, Jerry and Jenise Burch, they celebrated the birthdays of Reid for his fifth, and Josh’s. Father and son share the same birth date-April 1.

We lost another old-time Walker person. Sympathy is expressed to the family of Ida Lee (Roof) Spencer. She attended Walker High School.

Eleanor Willson went to Archie Saturday where she took Claire and Brianne to their soccer games.

Christine Graham and Corey attended a 4-H Beef meeting at the Vernon County Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon.

Callers in the home of Bob and Jane Hutchison during the week were Larry Lauderback and Elsworth Wegner. Visiting Tuesday afternoon were Kent and Brenda Hutchison and Stephanie and Kensey of Camdenton. Bob and Jane attended the 54 Cruisers Car Club meeting in El Dorado Springs Friday evening and the hog roast Saturday evening. Debbie and Denny Wallace visited them Sunday afternoon.

Madyson and Mason Majors spent some of the weekend with their grandparents, Bob and Linda Majors. They went fishing and hunted mushrooms among other fun things.

Wanda Huggins and I met at Pittsburg, KS, and spent the weekend at the Called to Write Conference.
