Patricia Diane Hubbard, 56, was born in Kansas City, on Aug. 10, 1956, to J.C. and Goldie (Todd) Hubbard. She passed away March 29, 2013, in the Appleton City Manor Nursing Home.
Patty was united in marriage to James Collins on Sept. 25, 2004, in Nevada. Before coming back home to Missouri, Patty lived in Alpena, AR. She worked for the Tyson Chicken plant and at an outdoor fruit and vegetable market.
She loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing or working in the garden. Patty loved to can her produce from the garden. She was a great cook. Patty loved raising her own cattle, chickens and pigs, especially the baby piggies as she would call them. At one time, she even had a baby skunk.
Patty was a great wife, sister, step-mother and step-grandmother. She was a really great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Collins; her father and mother, J.C. and Goldie (Todd) Hubbard; one brother, Jimmy Hubbard, and one sister, Carol Hubbard.
Patty is survived by two sisters, Sharon Schlichtting and husband, Steve – Taberville and Doris Turowski – Leeton; two brothers, Ricky Hubbard and wife, Carrie – Overbrook, KS and Gary Hubbard and wife, Ellie – Osowatomie, KS; two step-daughters, Amber Johnson – Texaco, NM, and Sabrina Collins – Clovis, NM; one step-son, Guyon Collins – Branson; two step-grandsons and four step-granddaughters, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and several friends.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, Sheldon Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs. Final disposition: Cremation.
