Rich and Marty Patton spent last week-end in Boonville and had a great time. Among the historic places they visited in the area were Blackwater and the Arrow Rock State Park. On the way home they stopped by Tony and Ashley Patton’s to babysit Jessa so they could go out to eat in celebration of Ashley’s birthday. Then they met Dexter Patton for dinner before coming home. They were lucky to get home just minutes before the rain and storm hit.
Friday, Crystal Kate and Cole Burch hiked at Postlethwaite Park with a group participating in the Nevada Schools Progressive Marathon.
Brad and LouAnn Majors spent Saturday with Bob and Linda Majors.
Gilbert and Eleanor Willson spent the past week in Branson with Debbie and Marty Wheatley as their guests. They took them to Silver Dollar City, Dixie Stampede, Joseph and the Show Boat Branson Belle to celebrate Debbie and Marty’s birthdays.
Jared Witter and Kathy Newman attended the Kid’s day at Living Waters Ranch near Osceola Saturday.
Spending Sunday with Kathleen Covington were her daughter, Linda Morris, and granddaughter and husband and son, Brittany and Harrison Campbell, Brodie and Quinton.
Kathleen Berry hosted the Coal Creek Helping Hand Club at her home in Nevada Wednesday. The group played games with all winning prizes. Kathryn Phillips won the door prize. The club will meet with Neoma Foreman in May.
Jack and Sharon Wallace and Patty Hendricks visited Elnora Wallace.
Susan Thompson, Mike and Kathy Newman, and Ernest Nikodim went to hear gospel music in El Dorado Saturday evening.
Saturday, Eleanor Willson took Brianne and Claire Willson to Drexel to their soccer games. The girls returned home with her and spent Saturday night and Sunday.
Bobby and Karen Hutchison and Grant spent Saturday night and Sunday with Bob and Jane Hutchison. They went to Chicken Mary’s at Pittsburg Sunday after church to celebrate Jane’s birthday. They were joined by Kent and Brenda Hutchison, Bill and Sally Hawkins, Lois and Jim Herbst, Debbie and Denny Wallace and Eddie and Valerie Hardy, Jayna and Paxton. Afterwards, they went to the home of Debbie and Denny Wallace in Nevada for birthday cake and ice cream.
Frank Haynes took Fred Haynes to Belton Sunday to help their brother, Kenneth Haynes, celebrate his 90th birthday.
Roberta Light spent a few days with her sister, Kathleen Covington.
Mike and Kathy Newman had lunch with Ernest Nikodim Sunday in Nevada.
Saturday, Jered, Crystal and Kate Burch traveled to Truline Genetics to purchase show pigs. Joining them were many Vernon County 4H families, including Brock and Karalee Gerster, Jerod, Jacob, Kenzie and Kelsie, Tim Bruce, Charlie Comstock and Cara and Shauna Horn and Hannah.
Sunday was Walker 4H. Clover Kids made Upcycled items for Earth Day, making playing card holders, plastic shrinky dinks and shaped crayons. After the club meeting, the group picked up trash along C Hwy. as well as Walker Park.
The Walker 4H meeting date has been changed to May 5 at 4 p.m.
Coltin Willson and Garrett Conley spent Thursday with Charles and me. Their mother, Wendy Conley, spent some time, but was doing a college class on observing a preschool in Nevada. Carter Foreman spent Friday. Dave and Betsy Foreman were in and out that day. Other visitors during the week were Christine and Corey Graham, Kathryn Phillips and Chet Foreman.
