ElDo MS track opens season at Bolivar

The El Dorado Springs Middle School track team officially started its season on April 5 at Bolivar. The 8th grade boys finished seventh. Tyler Goatley earned second place in the 1600 meter run and Ethan Dubois finished fifth in the shot put.

The 7th grade girls finished sixth at the Bolivar Relays.

Kayla Collins finished third in the shot put and fourth in the discus. Payton Babcock finished fourth in the shot put and fifth in the discus. Ashley Knoll finished fourth in the 1600 meter run. The girls 4×400 meter relay team of Keili Tough, Alexis Tough, Khara Burley and Ashley Colbert finished fourth.

The 7th grade boys did not score any points at their first meet.

“Bolivar is a tough place to compete for your first meet,” said Middle School Track Coach Tonya Hooper. “We were competing against some Class 3 and 4 schools which can be pretty intimidating. Right now our athletes should focus on personal improvements and if they earn a medal in the process, well, that’s just icing on the cake.”

ElDo then traveled to Stockton on April 8. The 8th grade boys team finished fifth.

Ethan Dubois led his team with a first place finish in the shot put, second place finish in the 100-meter dash and second place finish in the high jump. Tyler Goatley finished second in the 1600 meter run, fifth in the 800 meter run, and fifth in the triple jump. Kaghan Mays finished sixth in the discus. The 4×400 meter relay team of Wyatt Cartwright, Joe Pollack, Tyler Goatley and Ethan Dubois finished fourth.

The 7th grade boys finished third at Stockton.

Jake Schieffer finished second in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 100-meter dash. Zack Smith finished second in the shot put and sixth in the discus. Chris Reddick finished third in the 1600-meter run, fourth in the 800-meter run, and sixth in the long jump. Wyatt Graves finished fifth in the long jump and sixth in the 100-meter dash. Kade Collins finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles. The boys 4×100 meter relay team of Cody Rutledge, Kade Collins, Jake Schieffer and Wyatt Graves finished third.

The 7th grade girls finished third at Stockton on April 8.

The girls’ 4×400-meter relay team of Khara Burley, Alexis Tough, Kennedi Murdock and Ashley Colbert finished second.
