Saturday morning visitors of Bob and Jane Hutchison were their daughter-in-law, Karen Hutchison of Walnut Grove, and her mother, Phyllis Piatt, of Humboldt, KS.

Elnora Wallace attended the open house at the Countryside View Greenhouse east of Walker Saturday. Jack and Sharon Wallace visited her this week.

Gilbert and Eleanor Willson and Robert and Barbara Cubbage attended the music show at Fort Scott Sunday and ate afterwards at Chicken Mary’s near Pittsburg.

Charles and I and several others enjoyed the movie Home Run at Century Six Theatre and the Praise Festival sponsored by the CCPA in Nevada this weekend. We have a lot of great entertainment options in Vernon County.

Last Saturday, Lisa and Lance Christie, Regan, Hayden and Grace took her parents, Frank and Renee Weisensee, out to eat at Buzz’s in Nevada in honor of Frank and Renee’s wedding anniversary.

Carter Foreman spent Wednesday and Friday with Charles and me.

Sympathy goes to the family of Rex Manes whose funeral was this week and to the family of the NEVC student whose funeral was this week.

Debbie and Denny Wallace visited Bob and Jane Hutchison Sunday afternoon.

There’s not a lot of news but some people told me, “We’ve had one of those wonderfully quiet, boring weekends.” Those are nice sometimes to just rest and catch up.

It doesn’t seem possible, but NEVC 2013 School will be over in a month. Events scheduled are several makeup baseball and softball events. You’ll have to contact the school to see if they can actually be held because of the weather. Some of the scheduled events include: April 25-school out at 12:30 and no school; April 26. Jr. – Sr. Prom; April 27, Baccalaureate; May 8 at 7 p.m. at high school and graduation at high school; May 11 at 6 p.m. High School awards banquet; May 13 at 6 p.m. Spring Concert at Schell; May 14 at 7 p.m. Reading Award event at Walker; May 15 at 7:30 and last day of school is May 22—unless we have more days to make up.
