The El Dorado Springs Middle School track team traveled to Nevada on April 11 and competed under some extremely cold conditions.
Tyler Goatley finished sixth in the 1600-meter and 800-meter runs to score the only points for the 8th grade boys’ team. Kade Collins finished fourth in the hurdles to score the only points for the 7th grade boys.
The 7th grade girls’ team finished seventh at Nevada.
Kayla Collins finished second in the shot put and third in the discus. Payton Babcock finished third in shot put. Paige Esry finished fourth in the 75-meter hurdles. Ashley Knoll finished fifth in the 1600-meter run. Ashley Colbert finished sixth in the 200-meter dash. The 4×400 meter relay team of Khara Burley, Alexis Tough, Ashley Knoll and Ashley Colbert finished fifth.
El Dorado then travelled to Lamar on April 17 again competing in some frigid conditions and facing fierce competition. In the 8th grade boys’ division, Ethan Dubois placed second in the shot put. His points put ElDo in 10 place overall. The 7th grade boys did not place in any events.
The 7th grade girls finished fifth overall.
Kayla Collins took top honors in both the shot put and discus. Payton Babcock earned a fourth place finished in the shot put and discus as well. Ashley Knoll finished fourth in the 1600 meter-run and sixth in the 800-meter run. Ashley Colbert finished fifth in the 200-meter dash.
PERSONAL BEST – Mindy Harper claims personal best at 100m hurdles in Nevada. The Junior High Track Team from El Dorado Christian traveled to Nevada last Thursday, and brought home two bronze medals and multiple “personal records.” Abigail Batson, received bronze in the 7th grade high jump.
